Show You Care

I feel the capacity to care is the thing
which gives life its deepest significance.
- Pablo Casals

Caring - feel and exhibit concern and empathy for others
- from one of online dictionaries

How many truly caring people you have met in your life?
The ones that unconditionally care for people around them.
The ones who dont think about making the world better
but still are doing this.
The ones who are there for you to give support
even though you have not stated you need it.

People who ask "How are you?" and actually want to know this.
People who will stay in touch no matter what because they need to be sure you will be fine.

Someone who would call you on your bad day few hours after you left them in the office/school/cafe just to make sure you are feeling better.
Someone who will be there for you when you want them to be... and even when you dont want to.

Living for others, giving them comfort, support, love, understanding?

Whenever I have been told the best in me is a caring nature i always thought "What a big deal? Most people have!!" Today i was told it is a big deal because unfortunately i was mistaken and it has become a rare quality in people. I wonder why?

Caring is giving. It makes you a better person. It makes your world a better one. It makes the world of people you love better. It makes the big world out there BETTER.

Show you care.
A candle loses none of its light by lighting another candle.

Such a wonderful post !
And how sincere..!!

Indeed, Lena, there arent a lotta people in the world, who genuinely care for someone else. people are just too busy to even care, and when a pang arises in their hearts for not having cared when they should have, they just discard it away....

And life moves on...
Great post !

myonlyphoto Friday, March 28, 2008

Lena, not many, but one person I have to mention is my husband, he really cares. Oh well it is almost after 6 pm, and he is still in the meeting, I guess he forgot that I am waiting for him in the office, lol, kidding aside, he cares. Thanks for sharing these nice thoughts, and by now Lena you should know what I am thinking of your blog layout everytime I am here (beautiful everytime), but I will not mention anymore. I love every and each of your designs. Anna :) PS I may even come and ask for help when I am ready for my story blob makeover, lol,(may be just a little help, don't like to intrude, I know you are very busy cookie)

Lena Friday, March 28, 2008

a very honest post...
and its very true..there are very few ppl in this world who genuinely care for u...
we gotta find them or let them find us and then cherish them forever :)
loved the quotes...

Lena Monday, March 31, 2008

@ Sai:
thank you but i would disagree, there are other people than mother who care too, just they are really few and sometimes we maybe feel to see that :)

Lena Monday, March 31, 2008

Pri, thank you :)
Indeed they are few, and i am blessed to have the ones i have in my life.
Hope they will stay there forever :)

Unknown Monday, March 31, 2008

there's nothing like unconditional love or care.
those who says or feels or demands it are fake.
every action of love or care is bound with reason.
Reason rules the reality.
Reason is the only way which leads a person with brain to understand the reality

Lena Monday, March 31, 2008

@ unpretentious_diva:
those who seek for reasons are just selfish. Love and care from a selfish person are not love and care, they have other name.

Those who love unconditionally are never fake. Because loving for reason is ridiculous, caring because you will get something out of it is ridiculous too.

Reality doesnt mean to be understood, it exists without our realising it. Only our feelings can change the reality.

Unknown Monday, March 31, 2008

I saw your orkut profile...wanted to scrap you there..but its not open.

You have got some nice books list you have read, but you missed Ayn rand.
read "we the living", "the fountainhead" and "virtue of selfishness"

"we the living" is all set in russia.

Lena Monday, March 31, 2008

I never read these books, thanks for advice, would really love to read them :)
Orkut profile is really closed due to some personal problems in the past :(

Unknown Monday, March 31, 2008

@lena

Selfishness is the virtue just like honesty.

Rational selfishness, rational egoism, is the right way to live.
Other talks are just fake false and corruption which weak moralistic and corrupt people uses to mallign humanity and Individuality.

Enlightened Self-Interest is the only way of truth!

since you are russian as you say, you should have some knowledge about Dostoevsky

Dostoevsky's interest stemmed, in great measure, from his belief that egoism was destroying Western civilization. Following an 1862 tour through Europe, the author's Winter Notes on Summer Impressions (1863) described egoism as

the personal principle, the principle of isolation, of intense self-preservation, of self-solicitousness, of the self-determination of the I, of opposing this I to all nature and all other people as a separate, autonomous principle entirely equal and equivalent to everything that exists outside itself.

read Dostovesky too

Unknown Monday, March 31, 2008

@lena
you can add me at your orkut as friend and then I may be able to scrap you :)
take care.

Unknown Monday, March 31, 2008

Philosophically, Chernyshevsky, Dmitry Pisarev, and others represented a view called Rational Egoism (in Russian, razumnyi egoizm), and this outlook had two aspects that coexisted uneasily. The first was a belief in 'psychological egoism,' the deterministic doctrine that people necessarily pursue the goals they believe to be in their best interest. Obviously, there are objections to this and the Rational Egoists attempted to deal with them. But the greatest difficulty faced by the Rational Egoists was that they simultaneously believed in "normative egoism," the ethical doctrine that people ought to pursue their best interests. The need to reconcile a belief in determinism (implied by psychological egoism) with a belief in free will (implied by the injunction "ought") was a paradox the Rational Egoists never solved.
Ayn rand did it.

Ayn Rand was also russian.

Lena Monday, March 31, 2008

@ diva:
well, that a difference of opinions. Of course I read Dostoevski, but it is not like we should believe everything that great people have ever wriiten. We have opinions based on our experience and understanding of life.
What is rational selfishness? It is a term created by those who want to justify theit inability to care unconditionally. What about all the people who adopt kids, sponsor school and are ready for just a random act of kindness because they feel so? Are they fools?
I guess it is up to everyone to decide what is better for them. For me selfishness is appropriate in some matters. Well i am a selfish person. But then when it is about people i love and care about, then it is unconditionally, not because i feel good about it, not because i get something from it. Just because it should be this way. For me. For someone else it can be a different way.

Lena Monday, March 31, 2008

Well, Ayn Rand left Russia when she was 20, and is not really known here. But i would sure read her books.

Deepz Monday, March 31, 2008

test Monday, March 31, 2008

oho.. i stopped caring for people once i actually started "becoming practical" u see.. these days, "u r so sweet" is no longer a compliment.. like today i asked one of my class mates to use the queue instead of me at the atm..

good to read about the virtues the people possessed in "those" days..

Nature Nut /JJ Loch Monday, March 31, 2008

Lena, what a fantastic post!!! It is rare to find people who care for others nowadays and that is why I find your blog so beautiful. All around me I see people speeding through their days. They cram so much into 24 hours that they don't come up for air...and have no time even for themselves, let alone others.

I'm glad you are showing that there are mentors out there who want a person to live a rich, fulfilling life. :D

Hugs, JJ

Mel Avila Alarilla Tuesday, April 01, 2008

Hi Lena,
True caring is indeed a rare trait nowadays where people always think of their own selves. People who genuinely care, just like you, are like bright stars in the firmament of heaven. Their love and caring are something that dispel the apathy prevalent in the world today. Continue to be the caring and loving person that you are. People will love you more for those traits. Thanks for the excellent post. God bless you and your loved ones always.

Deepz Tuesday, April 01, 2008

u can ask ur queries bout the template lena..ll be glad to answer it.

Lena Tuesday, April 01, 2008

@ manorath:
only if people will continue thinking like you these traits will become the ones of those days.
But we are lucky there are still people who care.
Even you do, at least for people you love, dont you?

Lena Tuesday, April 01, 2008

exactly JJ, life is so hectic, that people forget that they can care. It really hurts to realise this truth though.

Thank you for your always kind words about me :)
take good care :)

Lena Tuesday, April 01, 2008

Thank you, Mel!
But all the same applies for you too :)
God bless!
