What A Girl Wants

We all are different but it seems we all want the same. So here is my list of what a girl wants.

Warning: Long post ahead.

Fairytale

Ok, the knight in shining armor on a white horse might be a little bit overrated, but it still does the trick. He might wear old jeans and a washed up t-shirt though. We don’t mind. As long as he knows the basic structure of a fairytale.

* We are in trouble
* He rescues us
* We live happily ever after

It Is Raining

It is raining here. I love rains, but they make me think. So I am sitting here. Wondering. Thinking. About what has been. About what will be. Not about what is. I can’t change the past. I can’t control the future. Not now. I can change the present. Today. Or Tomorrow. Or even the day after. I am not sure I want to. I am rather sure I don’t want it. Maybe I should.

It is raining here. You can get outside. Get yourself totally soaked and dance in the rain. You can be happy for a moment, for an hour, for a day. Then you get back to reality. Reality makes you think. Reality makes you choose. And for every choice there is a price. I don’t want to pay the price now. I am not ready.

Have you ever wanted...

Have you ever wanted something so badly that you almost believed it is already yours?

Like when you were a small kid you dreamt of a kitten for your birthday. You counted the days. You knew how much fun you would have with your new pet. It should be a white one. A cute white bundle of joy. You decided to call it Snowy, chose a place for it to sleep where she would roll herself into a ball and make you smile every time you look at her. You imagined how you would go to school and tell all your mates about your new little friend and everyone would beg you to show them your Snowy. And you would choose the lucky ones and bring them home and show them your white love.

And then the Day comes. You wake up, run to the piles of beautifully packed gifts, don’t pay attention to anything. You are searching for her, your Snowy. And she isn’t there. You are disappointed and leave crying. Your parents don’t understand what is wrong. They got the best gifts for you, and yet you left like you don’t care. But how can you explain to them that you don’t need any gifts? You need Snowy. Your Snowy, the one who sleeps nested up to you in the night, the one your friends love so much, the one that scratches your arm to get your attention. The one you never had.

Hong Kong: Some Interesting Facts

Today on The Colors Magazine I present 3 Facts about Hong Kong. Don’t ask me how I have chosen the city for One City - 3 Facts this time, do not really know what hit me that hard that I moved from Europe to Asia. But I must admit it is not that bad a choice.
The official name of the city is Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. I guess you would never have guessed, would you? Even if it is a part of Republic of China, Hong Kong enjoys a high degree of autonomy in all areas except only foreign affairs and defence. You can read more on political set up and history of the city here. Not my task. My task is to tell you about some not so obvious facts of Hong Kong.

You are not alone

Sometimes life can hit pretty hard. You are all alone.
You do not know what to do, where to go, how to deal with this.
You are all confused, lost and tired.
Not able to fight.
Not able to believe.
Not able to hope.
But are you really alone?

And in the End, the Love You Take is Equal to the Love you Make

“How do I know if this is a true love?” Someone asked me recently.

I was confused. Not that I didn’t know what to answer. In fact I answered instantly. I seem to have had the answer for this question since ages. Maybe I knew it all the time. And now was only waiting for someone to ask me.

“If it’s love it’s true,” I answered.

“How do you know it is love then?” I was asked. I really saw it coming. Nobody would just accept the answer I have given.

It got me thinking. I know what love is, I really do. I just don’t know how to express that with words. They don’t seem to be enough. They seem to be shallow and too small to define it. After having written about love for almost 2 years since Tuesday Love Ramblings on my blog were launched I still cannot find the right words to show what love is. Maybe I am not supposed to? I mean, I am definitely not Shakespeare, and he was good, wasn’t he? Romeo and Juliet still makes me cry every time I read it or watch the play or the movie. But even having all the works of Shakespeare available, people still ask what love is. Though, maybe they haven’t read Shakespeare? Maybe next time someone asks me what love is I will send them to the library instead?

My first love - Figure skating

There can not be better sport than figure skating for me. It has it all: beautiful music, grace, artistic impression, passion, emotions, competition. Once you start following it you will not be able to stop. You fall in love with it for the rest of your life.

But even if you like all the skaters, know their names and programs, sympathize with them, you still have few of your favorites and among the many of their performances you can always name few most memorable ones.
