I Never Sleep

I never sleep.

I mean it. Really. It is not insomnia or something of that kind. No. I just don't want to sleep. Seriously, what's the point in sleeping? You sleep – you peddle away your time. I'm better than that.

I never sleep.

They think I do. Fools. Every time I go forth into the night they believe I will be sleeping like everyone else. The only difference is that I am not EVERYONE. Stupid as they are they will never get it. They even don't know what they want. When I am there, they complain. When I am gone they complain more. People, goddammit!

I never sleep.

Instead I go places. That's fun. In this jet age it is simpler than ever. Breakfast in New Zealand, lunch – in Nice. Dinner? Still thinking. Tough choice. New York or Vegas? What do you think? Oh, you don't think? Jealous, huh? Well, strictly speaking, I don't travel on my own. I… Umm, that's complicated. And you won't understand anyways. I bet you don't like me now. Do you? Nobody likes me. And why? Right! Because I NEVER sleep.

Never.

Stars don't sleep. They indulge in pleasures. Every single minute. Carpe diem, you know. And I am the greatest star. What? I am not bragging, you brat! Everyone knows it anyways. If you don't I can't care less. Read more instead of sleeping away the rest of what-used-to—be-your-grey-cells. Speaking of which, did I mention that I never sleep?

You don't remember? What a short memory span! No, no, no. I am not going anywhere. See, didn't I say you will complain. Not complaining? Seriously, man, who are you kidding? Oh... feeling hot now, aren't you? No? Everyone feels hot when I am around. I am kinda the hottest chap here. Huh? Where do you think you are you going now? You can't hide from me. Nobody can. Run, run! I will come and get you.

Blimey! Ran away… People. They are so funny. Sigh. How tough it is to be the Sun!
Wish I could get some sleep.

PS: this is a piece I have written long ago but haven't shown to anyone except few friends. Am posting it now only because I cannot write anything new as I am again lost in time and work issues. Have been away for almost a week for a business trip in Italy, now back but trying hard to catch up with all the work, and of course the blogs. Will take time, i guess :) Please bear with me :)

It's A Lonely World

She left the room without looking back. They had nothing to say to each other. Not anymore.
Words were vain efforts now.
Leaning against the door she tried to smile.
Funny world! It is a lonely place without the person that puts a smile on your face.
Starting today, her world was a lonely one.

Fairy Tale or Nightmare?

Pri said...*
///and sometimes...just in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale///

but do fairytales come true??
in reality its almost always that the nightmares with horrible endings come true..the fairytales with happy endings are often restricted to dreams and books :)
love does make us live in a fairytale but is it fair to do so knowing that the bubble can burst anytime...

its true that sometimes just in the middle of an ordinary life love gives us a fairytale (like u said) but sometimes its also true that just in the middle of a fairytale, life is contemplating on a nightmare with memories to haunt us for the rest of our lives...

im sorry for the cynical comment..just thought people should be aware of both sides of love...neways we always go for the fairytale however great is the risk of it being shortlived..we never learn do we? :)

*the comment i received on the previous post

Each relationship always has two sides, not a good one and a bad one, or a right one and a wrong one, but rather a happy one and a sad one. So does LOVE. You cannot be happy always, or live in a fairytale world, expecting your Prince / Princess make each moment of your togetherness a precious memory to be kept deep in the heart for the rest of your life. Your life together.

If you expect the entire life to be painted in pink color then I must disappoint you. One day the bubble will just burst and you will be left with nothing but bitter experience and painful regrets.
Love is a fairytale, indeed.
It makes you go awwww each morning you wake up and think of that special one.
It makes you smile when you are tired.
It makes you a better person.
But most of all it makes you happy.

It is when you catch yourself smiling for no reason at all.
When you not just try to be happy, but you are and you mean it.

But this fairytale does not just happen. You work for it. And you work hard. Every day. Every single hour. Each moment of your life. You adjust, you care, you compromise, you create your own fairytale. Provided that the other party does the same. It is when they don’t, or when you don’t when you wake up and realize that your fairytale had turned into a nightmare long ago but you were too blind following the idea of fitting your relationship into a fairytale scheme. And then your mornings’ awwwws change to tears and pain and promises that you will never again let anyone come close to your heart because how can a broken heart love again?

And you stay there alone wondering where and what went wrong and if there ever was a chance for the fairytale to remain a fairytale only without gaining the features of the worst nightmare ever.

And you ask yourself does true love really exist? What about everyone saying that True love doesn't have a happy ending, because true love never ends? And if so, then what exactly was your FAIRYTALE? And the easiest way is to believe that fairytales are restricted to books and movies, that they are not only NOT for you but as a matter of fact NOT for anyone. This way you feel hurt less. Its like, okay, I didn’t have a true love, but then... who does?

Maybe it is really so. I wouldn’t call it cynical or practical. It is just simpler to think so.
But true love does not just happen. You find love, and you work hard to make it a harmonious bond of two loving hearts. And if the other person works for it too, then chances are high that you have created your own fairytale. For lifetime.

Yes, love always has two sides – a happy one and a sad one. And when someone isn’t ready to work for their relationship, they are bound to hurt and get hurt. And if you are at the receiving end … well, you can’t make or force someone love you, but you can always make them regret they don’t. The loss is always theirs. And then you have got a lifetime for finding love, working to make it true and creating your own fairytale.

Because like someone once said… sometimes...just in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale… And then I add, if we are ready to work for it.

This is Tuesday Love Ramblings. And that was me, back to blogging. Promise to catch up with all your blogs in coming days.

And thank you very much for all the birthday wishes :) And a special thanks goes to Sami, Preeti, Ankur, Hemanth and Anil for their beautiful gifts, the best of which is friendship to be kept forever!! :)
